Dr. Dave Marshall and his staff's reputation for teaching excellence is recognized throughout the World and Copyrighted. Dave's guidance and teaching has helped develop 105 state championship tennis players, 75 sectional champions, 25 USTA National Champions, and two US Open Qualifiers. He has sent 125 players on to play collegiate tennis. Dave has coached NCAA Champions, worked with Australian Open/Wimbledon Junior Girls' Finalist and thousands of students whose improved skills have led to their greater enjoyment of the game.

Dave Marshall

A former nationally-ranked collegiate player, Dave holds 12  Delaware Open titles singles, doubles and mixed doubles championships. He holds 15 national doubles titles.  He is currently ranked #1 in the USA for over 45 Men's Doubles.  He has held the number #1 spot for 2016, 2017, and now 2018. 

Dave has been the USPTA Middle States Pro of the Year, Delaware Pro of the Year, as well as HBCU National Coach of the Year.  Additionally, he has been inducted into the Delaware Hall of Fame, USPTA Middle States Hall of Fame, as well as his former alma mater Washington College's Hall of Fame. 

Dave has also led his Men's team to win the USTA National Championships for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2014, and 2015. Dr. Dave was the head coach of the men's and women's teams at Division III- Washington College. Dr. Dave was the head women's coach at Delaware State University a Division I program-where he led the team to a the Finals of the HBCU National Championship. Now, Dr. Dave is working alongside Dave Macpherson as an associate coach to the Bryan Brothers. During the 2018 season, he has coached Bob and Mike Bryan to the Miami and Monte Carlo ATP World Tour Masters 1000. Additionally, he has coached Mike Bryan and Jack Sock to back-to-back Grand Slam Championships (Wimbledon & US Open).  

Dr. Dave Marshall was Director of Tennis at Sea Colony for over 25 years until 2009. Dave's team of pro's (Dave Marshall & Associates) left the SC program in good shape and in the words of SC's Tennis Chair Under Dave's leadership Sea Colony tennis emerged as one of the premiere programs in the country, achieved national rankings in several categories and built a world class program.

In August of 2009, Dave Marshall & Associates completed the Dave Marshall Tennis and Fitness Center in Lewes Delaware, where the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies are now headquartered. Within 9 months of opening, Dave Marshall Tennis Academies was ranked by Tennis Resorts Online. They are now ranked #14 Tennis Camp in the world by Tennis Resorts Online (as of May 13, 2018). 








Dave Macpherson, Touring Coach for Dave Marshall Tennis Academies and head coach for the Bryan Brothers and John Isner.  He is a former professional male tennis player on the ATP tour and is known primarily as a doubles specialist. Mac's pro career was highlighted by his 1992 season with partner, Steve DeVries, where they won doubles titles in Milan, Manchester, Indian Wells, Atlanta, Charlotte and Brisbane to finish No. 8 in the year end Team Rankings and qualifying for ATP Tour World Doubles Championships. In November of that year he achieved his high personal rank of #11 in the doubles ranking. 

  Ellis Ferreira has been full time at Dave Marshall Tennis Academies since 2016.  He is a Three-time Grand Slam Champion and former world #1 in doubles. Ellis won the 2000 Australian Open  Men's Doubles Championship with Rick Leach and the 2001 Australian Open Mixed Doubles Championship with Corina Morariu. He was finalist of the 2000 US Open Men's Doubles Championship with Leach, won the 2001 World Doubles Championships in India, and won the 2005 Wimbledon Over 35 Doubles Championship with Paul Haarhuis. He is currently #1 senior player in the US. Before DMT he was Associate head coach at Delaware State University from 2014-17. He was the Director of Tennis at Lifetime Fitness in Birmingham from 2012-2015.  He was owner of the Eagleton-Ferreira Tennis Academy in Sarasota, FL from 2010-2012 and Coach for Tennis Canada, working with the top touring professionals in 2009 & 2010.  He was Associate Head Coach at Washington College with Coach Dave in 2008 & 2009. Ellis and his wife, Ashley have two daughter Camden and Sullivan who have graduated and currently attending University of Alabama respectively. 


 






Jackson Bailey
is USPTA certified and has been working full time at Dave Marshall Tennis Academies since 2016.  He is the Head Coach at Delmarva Christian High School and is a certified USTA tournament director and Nike Camp Director. Jackson was a regionally ranked junior and #1 singles player at Oakland Mills High School. He was a member of the tennis club at Penn State and was formerly a teaching pro at Forest Hill Tennis Club. Jackson is currently pursuing a degree in business at Delaware Tech. 









Ryler DeHeart, a five-year ATP professional, four-year assistant (2013-2016) at the University of Alabama and spent three seasons as the men’s tennis Associate Head Coach for Florida State University before starting as a National Coach for junior boys at USTA in Orlando. DeHeart played four years collegiately at the University of Illinois, helping lead the Illini to an NCAA Championship as a freshman in 2003. A two-time All-American, National Indoor Champion and #1 college ranking he continues to hold the all-time singles wins record for the Illini. Graduating with a degree in psychology with a premed focus, DeHeart was a 2-time All-American and won the ITA Indoor Championship in 2005 and was ranked No. 1 in the country. After playing at Illinois, the Kauai, Hawai’i, native played professionally for five years, including an appearance in each of the four Grand Slams. He reached a career-high ranking of 174 in singles and 120 in doubles, and faced the top-ranked player in the world, Rafael Nadal, in the second round of the 2008 US Open. Ryler and his wife, Megan, founded the RD Tennis high performance program in Tampa before his college coaching career. The pair have one daughter, Lily, and one son, JR.  








Megan Fudge DeHeart
is a former tennis and academic standout at the University of Illinois.  She played #1 singles and doubles for her entire college career and reached top 50 in singles and top 25 in the ITA national doubles rankings. Born in Germany and attended school in England, Megan won the national championships in England for the prestigious Millfield Academy her senior year. At Illinois, she was an All-Conference female player in the Big Ten an astounding four times as well as being voted MVP for her team all four years. She was the winner of the distinguished Cissy Leary Regional Sportsmanship Award her senior year for leading her team to a top 25 finish in the NCAA National rankings.  Megan received her Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management and Communications with honors.  She started her coaching career with her husband Ryler DeHeart at their academy in Seminole, Florida. She is both USPTA and USTA High Performance certified and has worked as an independent contractor for the USTA Player Development and USTA Florida for the past 5 years guiding some of the top junior players in the nation.  She is also a fitness enthusiast and has completed multiple races including a marathon and Ironman 70.3.  Megan and Ryler have two children, Lily and JR.

 Brittany Marshall, Senior Tennis Pro. At Delaware State University was a HBCU All-American in singles & doubles, HBCU National doubles champion, and MEAC first team honoree in singles. At Washington College was a two time nationally ranked doubles player, three time South Atlantic regionally ranked singles & doubles player. Brittany was a 3 time All-Centennial Conference first team honoree in doubles, 2 time All-Centennial Conference second team honoree in singles, 3 time MVP honoree, 2 time All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship honoree, 2 time ITA Scholar Athlete, Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll Honoree and Dean's List student. In high school at Worcester Prep (MD), Brittany was a 3 time ESIAC conference singles champion, Daily Times Player of the Year, ranked top 20 of USTA Mid-Atlantic section, and nationally ranked  junior player.

 Tom Mancuso, USPTR, is a Nationally Ranked Senior Tennis player, who also holds Delaware State Titles, Senior Olympic Titles, #2 in Middle States, PTR Finalist 3 years in a row and Champion one of those three. Tom has been a teaching pro for the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies for many years. According to Tom I am very happy when my students sign up for another series of lessons or clinics before they leave. But, I probably get my greatest pleasure out of watching Tots grow into junior players, then high school, then college and beyond.
